Redtail Technology Email is IMAP Email. This technology is antiquated
IMAP, does work, but is limited on how it synchronizes all data.
Redtail Technology is a good company. They sell an email package that includes archiving and Journaling for complianace. However, they use IMAP technology on their email solutions which have limiting synchronization capabilties. Moving to Office 365 is a significantly better solution that synchronizes all things in Outlook and does so for all of your devices.
The integration of IMAP technology and Outlook is limited. There will alwasy be problems with IMAP and Outlook and as years go by, these problems will progressively worsen as Microsoft will provide more limited support for IMAP email technologies. Outlook is designed for Exchange 365, a hosted email service provided by Microsoft.
Redtail Technology works with many firms in many industries. RIA, financial firms in particular are a specialized industry that requires emails to be journed and archived. Redtail has a compliance solution that journals and archives emails. Redtail also offers a CRM and other useful techology tools.
The most trying solution that Redtail offers is email. The email solution that they offer is an IMAP Email technology. This technology does work. However, it is antiquated and does not provide a full synchronization of all data that is housed in Microsoft Outlook.

IMAP does NOT integrate well with Outlook.
You can see from the settings picture that Outlook was NOT designed for IMAP. IMAP is antiquated and is not native for Outlook. Though it does work, is not a complete solution that synchronizes all data in Outlook. The IMAP email solution lacks consistency and does not do calendaring and the management of contacts well. This solution is overly complicated. It was popular becasue it was an open and widely adopted standard. However, Outlook works 100% with Microsoft Exchange which is does not run on IMAP techology.

We use Bit Titan tools to help us with Redtail IMAP Emial to Microsoft Office 365. This is a very complicated conversion and takes a great deal of careful planning. The majority of the planning is knowing that you have to work with Go Daddy during the business day to make sure this migration goes smoothly. Because you have to De-Federate the domain, there will be a loss of email on the Go Daddy side. We setup a MX record to go through ProofPoint to help capture that email during the De-Federation process.
Before De-Federation, all email accounts and distribution groups must also be removed from Go Daddy. When the entire domain and email accounts are fully deleted from Go Daddy, it is only then that the Migration to Microsoft Office 365 can be done.
What to Expect: The Conversion to Microsoft Office 365, from Redtail Technology IMAP Email
The conversion process is very complex as we have stated. It is complex because we are migrating IMAP which is an antiquated technology. Moving IMAP is usually a complete thorough process. However because of the antiquated nature of IMAP, occasionaly some contacts or calendar items may be missing. Email is typically NOT a problem. We use Bit Titan to migrate all your email, contacts, calendar items, tasks and any other data that is in Outlook. Bit Titan does move everything and Outlook will have a complete set of data from Redtail moved over to Microsoft. If there is any missing contact or calendar data, we are able to export from your old Outlook profile and import that data into Microsoft manually.
